About Me
Born and raised in Quebec City, Canada, where I practiced as a psychologist for 8 years under birth name Maxime Bourgault, D. Psy. I have moved permanently to Dallas, TX, in 2024.
Alongside my formal education and practice in traditional psychology, I’ve traveled the world to immerse myself in diverse healing practices and spiritual traditions. Over the past two decades, these experiences have deeply enriched my clinical training and reshaped my understanding of what healing can look like. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Healing happens in endlessly diverse ways.
I am now restarting my career in the U.S. I am still licensed in Canada, but I’ve chosen to close my practice as a clinical psychologist in order to embrace more a holistic integral approach.
Education & Training
I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University of Quebec, Trois-Rivières, where I specialized in the treatment of severe and chronic anxiety disorders with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am trained in a wide variety of additional therapeutic approaches, including:
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Young’s Schema Therapy
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Non-violent Communication
Art Therapy
Transpersonal Psychology
Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy
Psychedelic Harm-Reduction and Integration
Professional Experiences
In Canada, I worked as a clinical psychologist in private practice for eight years, offering individual therapy, group therapy, and training for mental health professionals. In the last three years of this practice, I also served as Director of Psychotherapy for Numinus, Montreal, offering clinical supervision and psychedelic assisted-psychotherapy through Canada’s Special Access Program.
